FoGuang Temple

Foguang Chan Temple is a thousand-year-old temple. According to local historical records, it was built in the Kaiyuan Dynasty of Tang Dynasty (715 A.D.). At that time, there were many eminent monks gathered, and the Sanskrit voice was dazzling. The incense was in full swing. People came hundreds of miles around to burn incense, make wishes and pray for blessings.

Buddha Guangzen Temple was damaged and repaired repeatedly in the war. Years have passed, storms have eroded, and only part of the building remains remain. The rise and fall of the site reflects the development of Buddhist culture in the long history of China, and shows the influence of social environment on religious beliefs.

The Buddha Guangzen Temple we see today was rebuilt in 2004 and expanded in 2008, mainly in the style of Ming and Qing Dynasty.

There is a couplet on the gate of the monastery. The couplet is "wind, rain, bells and chimes, sound is free" and the couplet is "mountains, waters, smoke and clouds, color is empty". This couplet makes people feel that they have not entered the monastery and their hearts have entered Zen.

At present, the main buildings of Foguangchan Temple are Daxiong Palace, Tianwang Palace, Bell and Drum Tower, Shanmen, etc. On the South side, there are legal logistics access, and on the North side, there are cultural corridors. The hall is dedicated to Buddha, Han Baiyu Guanyin, 18 Arhats and so on. Each year, more than 100,000 pilgrims visit the hall. The reason why the incense of Buddha Guangzen Temple is so vigorous is that this long history has made Buddha Guangzen Temple become a treasure land for people to pray for good fortune and good fortune.

Buddha Guangzen Temple is closely related to the Temple of Viewing Heaven. Since ancient times, Buddhism and Taoism were not separated. During the Tang Dynasty, because the temple was full of incense, but it had a long way to go. In order to facilitate pilgrims, the temple was built here. Originally, it was for pilgrims who visited the temple to fight and rest. That is to say, the predecessor of the temple was the temple of pilgrimage to the temple.
